The car is later seen again flipped over as the war party drives back through the canyon.Īfter the filming both of the cars were stripped of their movie look and returned to their owners. After Angharad slips and falls off the War Rig, Immortan steers hard left to avoid running her over which rolls the vehicle over. Max is freed from the grip by Angharad and Capable who cut the chain of the harpoon. Rictus then fires the harpoon into the cabin of the War Rig, ripping out the steering wheel and pinning Max's hand to the door. Immortan then speeds up and jumps in front of the War Rig, another Imperator is promptly shot by Max and Furiosa. Nux convinces Immortan to get him aboard the War Rig but his plan immediately fails. After the car pulls up next to the War Rig one of the Imperators is killed by Furiosa. Eventually the vehicle catches up with the War Rig nearly missing being hit by the exploding unhooked gasoline pod. On board of the BigFoot are now Rictus, Nux and two Imperators. The vehicle first appears next to Immortan's Gigahorse as it's approaching the Toxic Storm.Īfter the Rock Raiders drop boulders on the pass the Bigfoot driven by the Immortan is the only vehicle capable of driving over the rocks and continuing the pursuit of the War Rig. To emphasize Rictus's physical size this vehicle is big and bulky with weapons to show off Rictuses firepower. The vehicle appears to be second in command and is Rictus Erectus' vehicle of choice. The back of the vehicle is decorated with chains hangind down and a number of doll head signifying Rictus' childlike nature. Both weapons have a plexiglass shield to protect the gunner. There is an additional rollcage in the back of the vehicle. The rear of the truck makes space for three people, one seat for the gunner operating the flamethrower or the harpoon gun. The Dodge Fargo shell was widened at the cab with a visible middle section welded in. One of the trucks had a 572 Chevrolet block engine with a Turbo 400 transmission, petrol fueled. The monster trucks were both Australian made Shattered Silence and Stress Factor. Two actual monster trucks were used in the making of the movie. Not all plowing vehicles come from The Bullet Farm, some have been re-aquired from The Citadel where they served as farming vehicles. The vehicle referred to as the BigFoot in the production documents is a shell of a Dodge Fargo tray top pick up truck on top of a monster truck chassis. Various plow trucks, including the "Claw Car #1" were originally designed to plow through the land in search of used bullet shells and lead around the lead mining area on which The Bullet Farm was built. The vehicle was transported back from Namibia and was displayed at the Sydney Opera House Mad Max: Fury Road premiere. The 'Claw Car #1' halts to a stop and is left behind. After deploying the harpoon and the claw the 'Claw Car #1' effectively slows down the rig, however, Max cuts the chain connecting the harpoon to the car. The vehicle is first seen attempting to stop The War Rig. The vehicle is in generally good condition. The vehicle still has its paint although the back of the tow bed is rather rusty. All lights are there except for left headlight, there are even two emergency lights on the roof. The vehicle itself is not badly damaged or heavily modified by movie's standards. The purpose of the harpoon gun is to embed the harpoon in the enemy's vehicle and drag it to a complete stop with help of the claw. Near the rear window of the cab there is a seat placed directly behind a harpoon gun. It is fully functional and its purpose is to dig itself into the ground and halt the vehicle. On the tow bed there is a massive hydraulically operated steel claw which was made by the special effects department. The rear wheels are significantly bigger. Most modifications were done to the tow bed of the truck. There is also a sunshade possibly made from a bumper and another half-cut drum on the roof. The cabin of the vehicle is missing the passenger door (the car is right hand drive), the grille is modified with metal 'teeth' and on the bonnet there is a tank cut in half functioning as air intake. The "Claw Car #1" is a modified 1980 Ford F250 tow truck.
